Who am I?

From a trip to Africa, to becoming an activist for global poverty and human trafficking, I am discovering God can use me in new ways I never thought possible.
The Lord has been using my previous struggles with health issues, miscarriages, and even my painful past of experiencing abuse to help others discover the healing and recovery process available to us through Jesus Christ.
God always has something new for me to learn. He is always challenging me to think outside of the box, and to even live outside of it. He challenges me to think bigger than I want to and to do more than I am personally capable of. (Which I fully admit, some days I do better at this than others.) All this equates to living in the limitless possibilities of Christ, whether in the ordinary tasks of life or the extraordinary adventures He leads me on.
My husband and I believe our two main goals are to love the Lord our God and to love people. We have been blessed with 3 fantastic kids. Each one is so different even if they all look quite similar. It’s a blast learning each ones personality. They are full of blessings and challenges! Each one is truly a gift from God.
While my husband is an Electrical Engineer he is also a Youth Pastor. It is one of the craziest and most fulfilling jobs. Where else do shaving cream, marshmallows, goldfish, and edible bugs also lead to empowering teens to go out and change the world? Helping them to discover who God created them to be and giving them the opportunity to choose Christ and have eternity with Him?
Honestly we have quite a few people ask why we work with teens and simply it’s because God called us both to it. How else can anyone choose to delve back into the world of Junior High and High School drama, and yet consider it pure joy! (Okay there are days I want to hit my head against the wall, but most days it’s worth all the heartache…or errr headaches!)
My hope is that I learn through this process of blogging more about the Lord, and more about people. If it encourages you, challenges you, or causes you to crack open your Bible then I am grateful.
The adventure that the Lord has called my husband and I on has been amazing. Not everyone understands why we do what we do and that’s okay. I know that I love my Lord and life is amazing when I am following Him. Never losing hope or peace is an amazing thing. Without the Lord I can honestly tell you I would not have these three beautiful children. I would have never met my husband, and I probably would have succumbed to the depression I struggled with, maybe even suicide.
I thank God for those that prayed for me and patiently lived out their lives following Christ in front of me. You played a role in saving my life and now I pray it can be lived out in front of others in a manner that points to the Lord of Lords!
I invite you to come along on this journey with me or maybe choose to start writing your own blog that may encourage others. Either way I pray you live this one life we have each been given awake to the limitless possibilities offered us through Jesus Christ.

DeleteHi visiting from UBP. Yes, God does challenge us continually. He challenged me last June to begin a blog (at that time I didn't even know what it is) A month later I began my second blog and November I wrote my first Christian fantasy novel. It was released about two weeks ago.

ReplyDeleteI call myself a young activist becoz i have high critical thinking and human sensing which is still guides me. I went thru Heather's blog and felt excited simply bcoz looks like she red my mind. For sure there nothing good as serving God in away of being the bridge to one another. Where there is love there is life. I wish there should be only one church which is " Church of love" so that ppl can be taught to love one another unconditional.
Lets be the change we want to see in the world. I would appreciate if you guys visit my FB Group called be the bridge Rwanda.
